SSRS 2012 & SharePoint 2010 integration

Hi,

have a question regarding the SSRS 2012 integration in SharePoint.

You have to install the Reporting Services for SharePoint components from the SQL Server installation onto your SharePoint server. I have done this. I installed the SPRSService and the SPRSServiceProxy and still I couldn't find the new service application in Central Administration.

I searched for a service instance and sure, I found one, disabled. So, I started it. State = online.

Went back to Central Administration and still nothing.

Then, I figured that I could create one using PowerShell. So, I did this. Created a service application & proxy. Saw that 3 databases were created in SQL and the service application was available.

Went back to Central Administration and ... nothing! No service app, no service, nothing... not even the slightest hint of a SSRS integration anywhere.

Start looking in Google, found lots of blogs which told me the things I already knew and did. 1 small difference... all blogs I found talked about a single server installation => everything on the same box. I have a 3 server farm.

Eventually, I got those things to turn up in Central Administration and this is what I had to do:

Host Central Administration on the server where the SSRS service is running. So, now I have 2 servers running Central Administration. On 1 server, I don't see the SSRS service application, on the other one, everything is there.

Is this the way it's supposed to work? Because if I want to have 2 servers CA, I need to have the SSRS service installed on both servers to be able manage the SSRS service app from both CA instances?
