First off thank you for taking the time to read the question posted. We have just recently deployed SSRS 2012 and are in the middle of migrating from SSRS 2005. My end users are noticing a some significant times for reports to come back in SSRS 2012 as opposed to the old environment. Following are the configurations for each:
SSRS 2005
1 dedicated SQL Server SSRS back end only
3 web front ends (physical in NLB)
SSRS 2012
1 dedicated SQL Server SSRS back end only (VM)
2 web front ends (VM in Citrix Netscaler HLB)
I seem to notice that when I look at the report server DB and run the following query I get different results on the times more importantly when this is compared to SSRS 2005 the format column instead of being HTML is now RPL in SSRS 2012. I looked up RPL format and from my understanding it is offloading report processing to your browser. If this is correct could this be part of our issue and is there a way to change this back?
