Could Reporting Service use SharePoint List in another web application as data source?

We have SharePoint 2010 and SQL Server 2008R2.

We have two web applications. SharePoint list is in Web application A and Reporting Service is on Web application B.

Is it possible to Reporting Service on Web application B to use SharePoint list in A as data source?

I realize that is should be simple scenario if both list and reporting services in on same web application, but how is it in this case?

If yes, what authetication methods are supported and nonsupported?
