Tyipically the one who asked for an On-prem version of power bi cannot really use the Azure version,
otherwise we'd use Power BI on cloud :)
when do you plan to release preview version of SSRS & Power BI on-premise installation so we can really test and play with it?

Hi,
I have a requirement to format SSRS reports correctly so they can be printed on single page.
I am exporting reports to excel and while previewing for printing that the page is overflowing eg: tabular report 2015/16 on one page and report for 2016/17 on 2nd page.
I checked Report
-> Report Properties -> Landscape and also made sure margins are 0.5in and width > height.
Please let me know what am I missing here?

SQL Server 2016 - Enterprise Edition - Core based licensing
SSRS configured by default - all local/native single machine install - all properties seem to be ok. No visible errors but when I try to open the website with proper URL it comes up with configuration error and/or HTTP Error 503. port 80 opened. tcp/ip enabled and all. I couldn't figure out what is wrong. What do I need to check or setup on the web side to make it to work? MSDN articles didn't help to trouble shoot or fix the problem. Can you please provide some guidance.

Has anybody successfully connected report manager to remote report server (I am using SQL 2016 sp1 bits)?
I followed instructions outlined @ https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc281384.aspx#ConfigureRemoteRS, but I am unable to move past step 3b.
Does anybody have sample report manager rsreportserver.config with remote server settings accurately set and working, or can you please point me in the appropriate direction if you know the answer?

I would like to ask you for your help regarding one report which I have developer for customer. For me on Server it is absulutelly functionally but user said that it runs 1 minute (after input parameters) and it is frozen. I have cloned Query and report (1 version over web interface and 1 version over Visual Studio). Customer saids that he tested it on more machines without success. Other reports work for them. Name of report is SL_Summary (some keyword? ). It was fuctionally earlier. I am not sure if customer installed on his network some hotfixes or if I have added there new group. In one clone I have only 2 simple columns, no grouping and three parameters (time from, to and treshold). Do you have any idea where could by some problém please?

Am sorry if some questions are real basic, i'm trying this for the first time. I created a cube using SSAS (with my user name and password). I created a report using SSRS with SSAS as the source and deployed it to the Report Server. Now on share point site i created an SSAS DataSource , deployed the report to the sharepoint. But when i try to run the report i'm getting this huge error

I have setup an RB report that uses and Analysis Services OLAP cube as the datasource. I created a dataset from Query Designer and added some parameters.
The parameters work fine but if I try to set any of them up with default values they do recognize the default. I suspect the issue is the way the parameters interact together in AS. One example is a simple text parameter where I add the value "Yes" as the default but the parameter acts like it isn't there.
My specific need is that I want to use a Range(Inclusive) operator on a date parameter where the from value is one year ago on the current date and the to value is the current date. I have tried a myriad of things but the default value is not recognized.
Is there a way this can done with the report source and OLAP cube?

Hi,
I just change the password of windows local admin account under which reporting service was running. After that I update the password in Administrator Tools>Services>SQL Server Reporting Services. After that I tried to update the password in 'Service Account' pane in SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Server Configuration Manager). But whenever I tried to update the password there I got below window (shown in picture) which says I need to take backup of the keys. After I give location and new updated password there I got below error-

i have implemented "Expand All and Collapse All options in a drill down" in this manner
included a boolean parameter named "ExpandAllGroups"
and then modified the sub groups as shown below:
For each sub group (except the topmost)
Edit Group --> Grouping and Sorting Properties --> Visibility Tab --> Initial Visibilty --> Expression: =IIf(Parameters!ShowAll, False, True)
I have two problems related to the above on is the expand all column works great when the parameter yes is chosen, when it says no i would still like the Plus sign to then expand as normal however nothing shows in my report.
so when expanded shows data
when it is not expanded shows no data and not even the plus signs
I figure it is something to do with my viability options but unsure my top group has show all on initial run
the text boxes and groups i have selected to show or hide based on the expression or it can be toggled by the company + sign, so it will show expanded but not collapses

I am trying to do the following :
1. I have a column called "Velocity" which has values like "Excess", "Active", "Slow". (Fig 1)
2. For these values (Excess, Slow etc) I want to have a column with these names in a new table and the values for these columns to be a total. So for Market- W100 Seattle total of how many Excess in the "Excess" olumn. (Fig 2)

I have a report that has a toggle state + and - when collapsed. The text says "show graphs".
When the toggle state is pressed I would like that text to change to "HIde graphs".
Is this possible?
I am using data bar in my report but the format is not what i want. I have not changed any setting. I want bar chart data in same format as in right hand side column. Why it is getting bold and kind of squeezed.

I'm struggling with an issue when exporting to Excel from SSRS (2014). I have a footer with more than 255 characters, that is not being exported correctly as it is being truncated after those 255. I'm aware of this limitation, but what I'm trying to find is a workoround.
I've tried to use an image instead, but that's another limitation. When exporting from SSRS to excel with an image in the footer, for some reason, it removes all images in the footer.
Can you think of any workaround for this?
