Drillthrough target passes incorrect parameter

$

Hi All,

The below "Successes & Failures by Type" is setup as a drill through target with these parameters after the base URL

{{ ComparisonCategoryChart01.SelectedDataPoint }}{{ TimeNavigator.SelectedEndTime }}{{ TimeNavigator.SelectedStartTime }}

Sometimes when I click on one of the series name field (e.g. Course) it will pass a different value (e.g. Student). This happens intermittedly for any series I click on. Sometimes it passes the right value. Sometimes it doesn't. I tried sorting the data points to keep them in a consistent location, but that didn't help. Any thoughts?

"An error has occurred" when attempting to subscribe to a report

Hello, I am hoping someone out there can help me solve this SSRS subscription issue.  Basically after configuring SSRS to use SSL connections only (remove port 80 support using SSRS Configuration Manager), I can no longer complete the subscription process and receive the attached error.  This is SQL server 2016, version 13.0.5201.2 running on Windows Server 2012 R2.

We have a wildcard certificate that I have installed which is trusted by all browsers.  The method I used to configure internal connections was to create an internal DNS zone directing all traffic to hostname.trusted_public_domain.com over to the internal IP address of this server.  The internal domain name of this domain joined server is different, for example domain.local.

This seems to work fine for logging in and reviewing reports, but subscriptions are totally broken.  As soon as I go back in and enable port 80 in the config manager, the subscriptions work fine..  However at this point users can also log in via clear text and potentially sensitive report data can be accessed without encryption.

Troubleshooting so far:

1. I have tried specifying a service account using the Reporting Services Config Manager and creating an SPN along with configuring kerberos authentication via the "rsreportserver.config" config file.

2. Registry changes found by Google foo...

Add a new DWORD value in the registry path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Parameters
Value name: DisableStrictNameChecking
Data type: REG_DWORD
Base: Decimal
Value: 1

Add a new Multi-String value in the registry path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\MSV1_0
Value name: BackConnectionHostNames
Data type: Multi-String
Value: hostname.trusted_public_domain.com

3. I have considered leaving port 80 enabled in the config manager and simply using the Windows firewall to block incoming port 80 connections.  Or even perhaps our perimeter firewall block inbound port 80 connections as a work around.  I have yet to test this option.

Hi

I created a tree map similar too

I addition. I see that Tree maps only work in sql 2016 or more. Could I use them in the SSRS from SQL 2012

Export to Excel loses formatting for 0 values

$

My SSRS version is 2012. I've a set of reports which shows the values as below in normal html view in report manager/viewer

Same report after export to excel shows values as below

As you see its losing format being applied for zero values

I've tried various ways of setting formats ie using standard formats available in textbox properties, setting value for format property by selecting textbox as N0, using custom format like #,##,##0 etc and even setting them as expressions

like = "N0" = "#,##,##0;(#,##,##0);0"

etc

But none of them works after exporting to Excel for the zero values.  The datatype of table field in database is Decimal(30,2)

Any help on this would be much appreciated as I seem to have run out of ideas on this one

Report Server is not accessible

Hi all,

we are having a problem in a development environment accessing SQL Server Reporting Service.

Everything was working without any problem a month ago, then, the we had a disk space problem and during 3 weeks the system was down.

After cleaning the system, we started all the service and everything seemed to work without any problem.

When we try to reach the Report Server we don't get any reply, we don't have a timeout, we don't have an error, we don't have any feedback, just a waiting interface.

We tried accessing using SSMS, the services link and the web portal, none of these methods worked (like I said before, no timeout, no error).

Microsoft Power BI drillthrough from one table report to another (each uses different datasets)

$

I am fairly new to Power BI reporting. My question may be somewhat pedestrian. I have this situation below:

I have a Category report in a table in Page 1 of Power BI desktop; this Category report is developed
from Categories dataset.

I have a Product report in a table in Page 2 of Power BI desktop; this Product report is developed
from Products dataset.

The Category dataset and Product dataset have a M:1 relationship using CategoryID column, from the
Products table to the Categories table (see diagram attached).

I set the drill through properties in  Page 2,  using the CategoryID column (see diagram).

However, when I go to Page 1, and right click a CategoryID value (say 1), I am not able to see the
Drillthrough option to navigate from Page 1 to Page 2 !

Am I wrong somewhere ? Even after watching many videos and reading many forums, I have been struggling with this for over a day. Please let me know.

Return Activities that are "not Followed By" some other activities in SQL

Dear Friends

In the SQL database, i have a table of person, linked to a table of activities that are linked to each person as shown bellow:

i want to write an SQL query that will retrieve those persons that have an activity reunified but not followed by registered and not followed by infoShared.

NOTE: Please note that the Excel table/SQL database has more info ordered in that way (many people & many activities), this was just for display purpose, so the query must look at the broad picture of the database, not just the excel picture above.

The desired results is that i should be left with the persons marked in red (Since they do not have the 3 activities following each other) as shown below:

Please assist.

Indicator: set color dynamic according to the percentage calculation

Hi,

I need to add an indicator component on a report and the colors (green, yellow and red) must be set dinamically according to a specific value calculated.

I have a column called "PERC_PERDA" which is the percentage amount of producion loss and it's calculated like this: =(Sum(Fields!SAS_QTYPRODUCTS.Value) - Sum(Fields!TOTAL.Value)) / Sum(Fields!SAS_QTYPRODUCTS.Value)

Based on the results of this calculation (PERC_PERDA), i have to set a color dinamically using the indicator component.

>> The metrics should be like this:

Red: more than 0,05% of production loss

Yellow: between 0,01% and 0,05 of production loss

Green: 0,00% of production loss.

How can I create the expression following this conditions? And this should be added in the value field of the indicator?

>> Inside indicator properties, values and states, should I set a minimum and maximum value for each color?

>> In the states measurement unit should I use numeric or percentage?

It's my first time doing expressions like this and I don't know how to write this one.

Please, someone can help me?

Thanks in advance,

A better Milestone chart is possible ?

$

Hi everyone,

I have developed a Milestone Chart based on a Project Server Database, exactly based on Task view "MSP_EpmTask_Userview.

We have created a custom field on the task table to mark if a Task must be shown as a Milestone on the Chart or not (not all tasks with 0d as duration).

I wanted to show something like this:

After Developping, I have some "Ugly" Result like this :

The chart type is a Range Bar and each project is represented with a simple bar. The problem is that every Milestone create a new bar and draw the marker (rectangle) in a a new line, in the production we can have several Milestones for a single project and it will create multiples bars and this is really ugly!

How can we draw all the Milestones in a simple and one bar for each projet?

This is how data is dispatched :

Thank you for your help !

I am in the process of migrating our Crystal reports to our SSRS 2008 R2 server. I have a report that tracks daily shipments with the function below which  returns the shift in which the order was shipped. I have been frustrated in trying to recreate it for the report in Visual Studio. Any tips would be appreciated.

Row_Date is a date/time value = 5/10/2018   5:06:17AM

If ROW_DATE >= DateTimeValue(Date(ROW_DATE),CTime("07:00am"))

Reporting Services with SQL Server stored procedure data source - trace output

$

Hi all,

I have several reports built with Reporting Services, consuming data from SQL Server using stored procedures.

Recently a new requirement came up and wee need to trace each line of the output in order to log which data the user saw on the screen.

Is there anything that we can attach to the reporting services request pipeline that allow us to trace this?

Use Tree Map in SSRS 2012

$

Hi

I created a tree Map in SSDT 2015, but I have only SSRS 2012

I received the following error.

SQL Server 2014 Reporting Services and earlier do not support treemaps. Either reduce the error level to a value less than 2 or change the TargetServerVersion to a version that supports treemaps

In this case.. How can I "reduce the error level to a value less than 2 " since I can't change the SSRS Version?

This is the error:

Creating a 4-D Range chart

I have created the range chart below in SSRS 2015 for 3 workers on one day. But now I want to be able to show the times per worker for other days of the week so that they are all plotted on the same chart.  How do I do this?

Alternatively, I have created a matrix to represent this same data, but that did not look as nice asthetically.  And I doubt that would work for 4 dimensions.

This is the SQL I used to create the dataset for above.

Timed Subscription Schedule in SSRS sends out duplicate emails

I have created a one-time subscription in SSRS report manager 2008. However I keep getting duplicate emails sent out by the subscription. The interval between each email is about 30 minutes.

I have checked SQL agent job and it looks the SQL agent job is created correctly. It just runs once and after that the next run time is cleared.

I also checked SMTP service on local machine by testing code. SMTP works fine for test email without duplicate. So I guess probably it is something wrong in SSRS. Any advice on where I can look into?

Sharepoint List Parameters in SSRS | 2008 R2|VS2012|SP2013 How to add an OR @Parameter = ''

$
0
0

So I have a very simple report. All I want to do is what I do in SQL all the time and add an OR @Parameter ='' so users can run the report for All items or use the simple text contains filter. Which is also used by a workflow and InfoPath form to create a report URL with dynamic parameter values being passed to the report.

Basically I'm like ok well I could just create a duplicate report with no filter and deploy both and give them links to both but that's not a great way to do things.

I really don't want to learn everything there is to know about XML right now but simple google searches are not very helpful. Guess a lot of people aren't really doing this.

I just let the query builder make the XML query but now I'm sure I'll need to manually edit it but I'm not finding useful information on how to do this.
