Subreports show up on top of the page despite they designed lower in the page

Hi everyone,

I have this report that contains 7 subreports. While I design it in VS 2017 everything seems working fine in its place. The problem occurs when I publish them to the Report Server. Report Server is SQLServer 2012. 

The subreports appear on the top of the page, before heading section. The subreports are designed towards the bottom of the main report. When you save the report to a pdf then the texts just sit on each other. 

Any suggestion and help would be greatly appreciated.

How to hide data item in rdlc report

Hi Experts

I have a data item called code.value

I have available values in it when i load report

PIG-BNS-C1

PIG-BNS-C2

PIG-BNS-C3

PIG-BNS-C4

Now my requirement is I want to hide the above values in the data item not to appear on the rows in the report maybe only to  have the ones I want they come form the same data item called code,please find the image to show what it has

Error adding a new Data Souce

When trying to add a new Data Source, I get following error message: 

An error has occurred. Something went wrong.  Please try again later.

I found this message in the log file:

SSRS Language settings for Parameters

I have a client in Germany using an SSRS report and the date parameter is showing "OKT" instead we need it to be "OCT" for october...... is there a setting to make sure GETDATE() is already converted or will a convert function work???

Installing SharePoint Reporting Services on Existing Report Server or Existing SharePoint Farm SQL Server

I am looking at installing the SharePoint Reporting Services and The Reporting Services Add-In for SharePoint. I'm not clear wich SQL Server I should install this on.

I have an existing SQL server as part of my farm that has reporting Services installed but we are not using the report services and it does not have the SharePoint components. I would expect this is where I should install the components however your existing reports would not be here.

We also have a production SSRS server that is running on our primary production SQL Server. This is where the developer expects to be able to call the reports from.

So the question is if we want to use the Reporting Services components in SharePoint where should I install the SharePoint components.

Server 2012 r2, SharePoint 2013, SQL Server 2012 SP4

SSR - calculated field

If i have a field that is just a summary field like this

=Sum(Fields!Quantity.Value, "bActAll")

and another from a different dataset in the same report like this =Sum(Fields!Quantity.Value, "bActAll")

How can I add a calculated field that subtract (or percentage) one from the others? 

I see that calculated field can be added under a dataset, but how can they work across datasets in the same report?

Appreciate any help!

SQL Server 2000 & SQL Server Reporting Services

We have been running SQL Server 2000 for several years. I recently installed the SQL Server Reporting Services add-on for SQL Server 2000. But, the report development environment is Visual Studion 2003 which in no longer available. Is there any work-around short of upgrading to SQL Server 2005?

Count Occurrences of a Specific Value in a Delimited String or Array

Trying to count the occurrences of a specific value in a delimited string or array:

For example, say I have a string:

1,1,1,2,3,3,4,4,5,5,5,5

I want to count how many 1's are in that string, which would be 3.   Has to count in the report, not a stored procedure.

I can SPLIT out to an array first, if that helps.

SSRS if no data under GROUP then display message

This is query, SELECT COUNT(CustomerID), Country FROM Customers GROUP BY Country. On the report we have Group name Country and under this group will show records . If the country does not have any record then will display message "NO DATA" for example OR show no border around the text box.

is repeating and freezing headers for tablix's still awkward in ssrs 2016?

Hi we run 2016 enterprise. And we use VS 2017 to design.

I'm trying to come up to speed again on repeating headers in ssrs for tablix's.

My report has 5 tablix's that vary structure wise from just a detail row group to 7 parent row groups above a detail row group.  And 4 of the tablix's have 1 row above the column headers for table wide heading (I merge cells and set various border styles to "none" to get the intended effect) and one tablix that has 2 such table wide rows for even more headings.

I came across the link below and the excerpt I show and honestly feel its as confusing as ever.  I played a little with some of the tablix's by clicking that down arrow right of the grouping panes and then highlighting various "static" rectangles to see which corresponding cell highlighted.  I was surprised to see no static rectangles under the row groups half of the group pane.   and when I highlighted static rectangles under "column groups" was surprised to see they didn't associate with rows as the article suggested but rather columns contained in the detail group. 

I'd like column and table wide headers to repeat from page to page and continue showing when scrolling.  Can anyone simplify this subject before I break my report?

To repeat rows with column headings for a table with row groups

  • In Design view, select the table. The Grouping pane displays the row groups.

  • On right side of the Grouping pane, click the down arrow, and then click Advanced. The Grouping pane displays static and dynamic tablix members for each group. You can only set properties on a static tablix member.

  • In the Row Groups pane, click the static tablix member for the row that you want to repeat. When you select a static tablix member, the corresponding cell on the design surface is selected, if there is one. The Properties pane displays the properties for the selected tablix member.

    • Set the KeepWithGroup property in the following way:
    • For a static row that is above a group, click After.
    • For a static row that is below a group, click Before.
    • Set the RepeatOnNewPage property to True.

why is hidden parameter taking up real estate on my report?

Hi we run 2016 enterprise.  I have 5 parameters in my report. the first is hidden. it must be first (I think, error says something about forward dependencies) cuz the 2nd param depends on it. short of introducing enough additional hidden params so at least it looks normal (originally 2nd param would show left justified on 2nd line of params) what can I do? It looks ridiculous.

I have column called "scope" in share point list
The column "Scope" has the values A -- in first row

"Scope" has the values B,C -- in scond row

"Scope" has the values A,B,C -- in Third row

"Scope" has the values A,B,C,X,Y-- in fourth row

I want to display count(A), count(B), Count(C) like this from the "Scope" column (which is existed in Sharepoint List) in Phi chart

and % of A, B,C,X,Y in Phi

[Report]Impact of activating "Use a single transaction when processing the queries"

Hi everybody,

I tried understanding the impact of activating the property "Use a single transaction when processing the queries" in data source properties of my reports edited using Visual Studio 2008. In most of my reports I have only one data set that might be used at many places (mainly for tablix) and it seems that activating this property at data source level is improving the performance quite significantly. But I am wondering about what kind of "surprises"I should expect by activating this at data source level.

Can somebody explain me what will change at report processing if this option is selected or not ? What is the real impact ? I did not find a lot of documentation about it.

Hello

I have this error sometimes during the day.

After I Reboot the server, all reports are available. 

I do not understand why its stop running!!!

I'm using SQL 2016 on Windows Server 2012

Internal error: Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.InternalCatalogException: An internal error occurred on the report server. See the error log for more details. ---> System.TypeInitializationException: The type initializer for 'Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.ClientTelemetry' threw an exception. ---> System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access is denied. How to sort a column in report

Hi

   I have a reports in which I use different tables and datasets to show data in rows and join all the tables without header to makeit look like one table. Is there any way to sort the IDs when I transfer it to excel?

all rows are different tables. In second set sometimes one table extract multiple rows. IS there any way of merging and apply sort without hindering with data?

SSRS Data set query execution

Hi Sir, 

We have created  a report usingSSRS in which there is a problem with one data set query.

It would be very helpful if you could you suggest us the best possible solution to over come the below  problem.We tried the below query which returns reactor wise(records) individual values. 

We had also posted one of the query in which we wanted to plot values as per the start time and end time columns.

I addition to that,

We tried the below query:

As seen in the above query, we are using sub queries in the main query's between clause.There is no relationship between the two tables i.e(Main query table and sub query table) so we tried using a sub query instead.

As per the output you can see that it returns individual values for individual names which have been passed into the above query.

Also,

When i remove the sub queries and give there some static dates in the between clause following is the output, which we require.


Could you please suggest the best possible way to solve to solve the problem and achieve the desired output.

SSRS clickable field to copy contents to clipboard

I have a report working great in SSRS SQL 2012. How can I use Report Builder to create an elementID or something similar and then add some javascript or something so that the contents (number) is copied to the users clipboard? Think there's probably a way, but can someone point me to a youtube or tutorial to do so?
