Report Server Windows Service (MSSQLSERVER)

This error is being displayed in the eventlog every minute.  Any ideas on what it is referring too?  I reviewed some posts but most point to specific problems of report server not running, or receiving this error during a run.  We are receiving no errors at all.  However this is jamming up the event viewer to make troubleshooting other issues very diffucult.

In Datazen we have the ability to create sub KPIs. I see no such functionality in the new migrated mobile BI in SSRS.

Are we able to create sub-KPI's?

Turn off wrapping for a column when exporting to PDF

Hi,

We are using SSRS 2012. On report is run using report manager, I would like to have a text wrap for column because it is wide and I have many columns to display. But when I click on export and select 'PDF', is there any way to turn off text wrap when export happens.

Alternative Output Formats

Hi there,

I have a .Net solution that retrieves SSRS data in XML format, and then uses this to create interactive SVG. 

However, I am having trouble now that I upgraded to SQL Server 2012 Web Edition.

The error message says that the format is not supported, but when I check the fine print of the feature matrix here:

https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc645993(v=SQL.110).aspx#Reporting

It states that "Word Export and Rich Text Support" (with the caveat that exporting to XML is not supported in SQL Server Express with Advanced Services) is part of the web edition.

Since I have the web edition and not express with advanced services things should be working.

I have checked the rsreportserver.config file and xml is most definitely in there as a format.

Can anyone help? This worked perfectly fine on SQL Server 2005.

SSRS 2008: connection failure, timeout or low disk condition within the database. (rsReportServerDatabaseError)

Hi,

I have started getting this error since a week now when I try to schedule a report or change a schedule of a report. 

An error occurred within the report server database. This may be due to a connection failure, timeout or low disk condition within the database. (rsReportServerDatabaseError) Get Online Help For more information about this error navigate to the report server on the local server machine, or enable remote errors 

 

We have SQL Server 2008 installed along with SSRS running on the server. I have never seen this happening before for almost a year now but suddenly it appeared.  Along with this, report subscription is also messed up and some report are not been emailed as they have a error like:

Failure sending mail: An error occurred within the report server database. This may be due to a connection failure, timeout or low disk condition within the database.Mail will not be resent. 

 

I am not sure what caused this but if anyone has any idea of what is going on it will be great.

I have been parsing through this forum "https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/c3e11282-495b-4e2a-b422-524dba378444/custom-authentication-provider-for-ssrs-2016-?forum=SQLServer2016Preview" looking for updated to fix the issue I'm having with the custom extension.

I have it working in regards to /ReportServer but receiving a 500 Server Error when accessing /Reports.

Does anyone have this working that can assist.

How to extend number of running jobs?

In RS server, you can find running jobs using SQL:

SELECT * FROM RUNNINGJOBS
I find only two jobs are running at a time in one server while more than 7 jobs are running in another server. How should I do to change number of jobs? Thanks.

Parent-Child RowGroup-ColumnGroup & Page Break Issue

SQL Server 2008 R2 and Report Builder 3.0

We have a matrix report that requires page breaks. The structure is something like the mock-up at the bottom.

  • Row Group 1  is the logical parent of Column Group 1 in the data.
  • Objective: Create a page break after each Row Group 1. Column Group 1 on each page should include only those values that are owned by Row Group 1.
  • A page break was created on Row Group 1. This is working correctly except that it is creating a blank first page.
  • Issue: Each page displays all values contained Column Group 1. We need Column Group 1 values to include only those owned by Row Group 1.

Redirecting Reporting request from app server to Report server

 I deployed a SQL Server Multi-Instance cluster in an Active-Passive clustered environment with just the SQL Server database engine. After a few weeks, the application team requested I install SSRS as well to use SQL Server Reporting Services functionality on the same SQL Server instance.To have high availability for SQL Server Reporting Services.

Now i don't want give a direct access of database server for users to pull report, Is there any other option available so that I can direct requests via APP server to db server for reports.

Report download in excel

Hi,

My SSRS reports on report manager are being rendered withing a minute, but when I try to save it as excel it takes too long or sometimes gives timeout. I tried in csv also but problem is same.

I am using SQL server 2008 R2 and opening report manger in internet explorer. The reports's size is from 1MB to 10 MB. Earlier same file was being download within a minute.

How to Add ACTION Hyperlink to a Toggle Column

Hi All,

I am trying to figure out a way to add an Action detail report to a column that has a toggle (+/-) on it.

For example:

+ Marbles 75

-  Red Marbles 30
- Blue Marbles 45

When the Marbles is collapsed (+) I want to click on the cell containing the 75 value and go to a detail report so that all 75 marbles are displayed.  I need to pass as an argument the context of the "collapsed" state.

When the Marbles are expanded (-), I want to click on the cell containing the 30 or 45 and show only the Red or Blue marbles respectively.

How do I do this?  I can't seem to figure out how to pass toggle state context to the detail report.

Warning message in SSRS 2008 R2 BIDS |Input string was not in a correct format

I have a indicator which turns green when all conditions outlined below are met else turns yellow.

All my datasets datatypes are strings but even then I keep getting a warning message-

"input string was not in a correct format "

When removed one by one case I figured out which case(highlighted below) was causing the problem but right now I dont know what I have to do fix the warning which I am getting

SSRS 2016 Mobile reports - Why send Simulated Data with every report?

Hi,

Every time I request a SSRS 2016 mobile report, a great chunk of Simulated Data is returned... over 1/2 a Mb of wasted transfer... check it for yourself in Fiddler.

This is causing slow performance and with over 50 reports, it will be unusable for me.

How can I request a report without this data being sent to me?

Mobile Report Publisher Parameter Problems

Hi I am old datazen publisher but now we are try to using Mobile Report Publisher.

I have a report data with parameters. When i am not using default parameters on shared dataset. Publisher not fetching columns. It can be understandble. So when i am using default parameter and after adding data, i set parameter with custom value. But Publisher  not refreshing data but when i save report and run it it fecth data and show me what i want after i save report and open it again, I see the columns of dataset is gone, I  have to add this datasets every time, I install cu1 to sql server and i am using latest version of Publisher can anyone has and idea how to i solve this issue

Could you give an example for a dataset with parameter that can be used in mobile reporting ssrs 2016 with param{} enabled? I have tried many different way without luck, param{} greyed out always.

Unable to install Client Print Control for SSRS 2014 onto a 32-bit Windows 7 PC

The title pretty much says it all.

We have a client who recently upgraded to SQL Server 2014. Everything looked good until they tried to print out a SSRS report on a 32-bit Windows 7 machine. First the prompt pops up asking if you want to download the control from Microsoft. Hit yes, and it acts like it is going to install. Instead of the printer dialog, we get an error that states:Printing is not available. Verify that ActiveX is enabled, or try using Internet Explorer for the desktop. 

We had no problem with SSRS 2012 Client print control. I have tried installing it with UAC turned off, and as Domain admin (which normally fixed the problem in older versions).

I have tried to install it manually by extracting the files from the C:\Program Files\MSRS12\Reportingervices\ReportServer\Bin\RSClientPrint-x86.cab and putting the files at C:\Windows\Downloaded Program Files and ran  regsvr32.exe /s "C:\Windows\Downloaded Program Files\RSClientprint.dll" This has not worked either.

Any suggestions on what I should try next? Or will this even run on a 32-bit version of Windows 7?
