so I have my value 1234 from my dataset, now I need to split that into separate text boxex, ie 1 and 2 and 3 and 4
my expr is = split((Sum(Fields!AdherencePercent.Value, "DataSet1"))).GetValue(0) but that only ever returns 1234
= split((Sum(Fields!AdherencePercent.Value, "DataSet1"))).GetValue(1) returns #Error
Using SSRS and Bids 2014 I found a way to get the page number within a sub report from this link which works really good.
https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/bwelcker/2005/05/19/dig-me-out-resetting-report-page-numbers/
But I'm challenged in how to get the total number of pages within the sub report. I need to be able to display Page X in N Pages.
Any idea how I can calculate that?
Thank you.
Since Thursday, the Microsoft Power BI app (for iphone) has stopped working when connected to SQL Reporting Services. It was working great until the update on 25th Aug.
Is anyone else experiencing same issue? or how can I troubleshoot the issue?
The report manager is up and running.
I have a need to allow users to enter rich text from a data entry screen and then render this rich text in reports. I've never worked with rich text so I don't know if this will work or not. I did some googling and see that SSRS allows you to enter static rich text into a textbox, but I'm thinking pulling rich text from the database and rendering it may not work due to different rich text formatting standards and depending on what tools are used in the data entry screen. I haven't tried it yet, but I would be using the Infragistics RichTextBox for Silverlight for collecting the rich text and saving the rich text to the database.
Does anyone have any experience and comments on this?
Thank you.

Help..
Robert.
I have 2 datasets in my SSRS report where I need to return the Fiscal Year for a Start Date.
Dataset1 fields:
Start_Date
Client_Name
Dataset1 contains different Start Dates for each client and are in the date ranges included in Dataset2.
Dataset2 fields:
Fiscal_Start_Date
Fiscal_End_Date
Fiscal_Year
Dataset2 contains rows as follows:
Fiscal_Start_DateFiscal_End_DateFiscal_Year
07/01/201106/30/20122012
07/01/2012 06/30/2013 2013
07/01/2013 06/30/20142014
07/01/2014 06/30/20152015
07/01/2015 06/30/20162016
07/01/201606/30/20172017
07/01/2017 06/30/2018 2018
I'm trying to do a lookup where I need to return the Fiscal_Year from Dataset2 where the Start_Date in Dataset1 is greater than or equal to Fiscal_Start_Date and less than or equal to Fiscal_End_Date in Dataset2.
For example:
Start_Date: 09/25/2012
Client: XYZ
Return Fiscal Year: 2013
Is this possible with a custom code in SSRS?
Could you give an example for a dataset with parameter that can be used in mobile reporting ssrs 2016 with param{} enabled? I have tried many different way without luck, param{} greyed out always.
I'm trying to open a subreport in a new window or tab using the Open URL, and pass a parameter. My syntax looks correct, and it does open the report in a new tab but the subreport doesn't execute and instead prompts for a parameter to be entered. I am passing the parameter but the subreport does not seem to retrieve it.
Here is my code:
=
"javascript:void(window.open('http://<ServerName>/Reports/Pages/Report.aspx?ItemPath=%2fPRM%2fWen+Service%2fService+Call+Cost+Audit+Detail&SelectedSubTabId=GenericPropertiesTab&Service_Call_ID="& rtrim(Fields!Service_Call_ID.Value) &"','_blank'))"

I am creating a tablix report which allows the user to toggle from a top level field down 2 levels. Having added the required fields and groups it places 2 new columns on the report ready to hold the results of the toggles being clicked. Is there a way where I can hide these 2 columns until each individual toggle is clicked? I've tried hiding the columns but this simply leaves a white space.
Thanks in advance
Aled
I am getting 50 odd junk emails. I tried to block using block emails. Although I block them I get the same emails continiously.
Help me.
We created an tabular model on SSAS 2016. One of the dimensions in this model is a date type.
We deployed the model to SSAS 2016.
We connected our Excel PowerPivot, PivotTable and PowerView to this model and we were able to see this Date type perfectly all right. In PowerView for example it was recogonized perfectly all right for performing play-animation on a scatter chart which means that it is recognized as a date type all right.
Now we created a dataset that includes this date type with other dimensions and measures from the tabular model.
Then we created an SSRS 2016 mobile report, we selected the time slider object, however when we added this data set to the mobile report, it seems that it does not recognize this date type and thus we are not able to use the time slider!!!
We returned back to the model and made 10s of changes but with no luck, the mobile report time slider is not able to see any date type.
Guys, is there a problem in this area??!!
What is the solution??

We created a tabular model on SSAS 2016 that includes a calculated ratio measure: SUM(X)/SUM(Y). We tested the model by connecting it from Excel PivotTable, PowerView, PowerPIVOT and SSRS Paginated report. In all these tools we were able to get the correct value calculated for this measure on all grouping levels.
Now we created a dataset that includes this calculated measure with other dimensions and measures. We created an SSRS 2016 mobile report and we connected the report to this dataset.
We added a Guage to the report layout, and we associated the Guage with this ratio (calculated measure). Unfortunately, this yields always incorrect results. After few investigations, we found that the problem is that mobile reports gauges force you to choose an aggregate function for the measure: SUM, AVG, LAST... etc and there is no NONE option available as in other BI tools to handle calculated measures!!!
This means that we will never be able to display this calculated measure value correctly on Mobile reports!!!
A KPI will not solve the issue either.
For us this is a real problem as we have so many of those calculated measures in our model.
Guys, is there a problem in this area??!!
What is the solution??

I am using SSRS 2008 r2 in Windows server 2008 R2. The report is working fine and the printing options are working fine with Windows 7 and 8 users, when it comes to Windows 10 user the report printing control popup is working where as when try to print get the following error message.
An error occurred trying to render the report 0x80004005.
When we check the reporting service log file we are getting rendering issue.
library!ReportServer_0-1!304!08/29/2016-16:34:44:: e ERROR: Throwing Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.InternalCatalogException: , Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.InternalCatalogException: An internal error occurred on the report server. Kindly help me advice is there any fix for this.
Hello,
I am creating a report using MSBI SSRS. i choose list and inside list i added 2 tables. I used list for splitting the tables according to id. The problem i am facing now is that if there exist repeated/ same values in tables, I am only able to see the value once (as a unique value in the table), but i would like to display all the values present in the table rather than hiding the repeated values. I tried finding the property of the list but I am unable to display all the values which I am able to see while executing MDX.
Thanks in advance for your help.
hello,
I am trying to count median in one report; found several tutorials in web - most of them useless :), but that one:
http://dba.stackexchange.com/questions/61185/find-the-median-of-a-calculated-field-in-ssrs-2012
seemd to do the trick, however with one exception. above example works for one simple table, but in reports where are several levels of grouping it dien not work in a way, for example, avg() is.
is maybe anyone aware:
a) how to modifu custom code listed under url as above in a way to make it to be aware of groupings in report, or
b) maybe there is some example in web, I was so far unable to fing, where is shown how to calculate median on report level (not in sql code), to make it working with groups inside report?
thank you in advance & regards
Tomasz
Hi everyone;
I have a query for a report. Now this query is pulling data based on the selected customer in the parameter. It is returning the Customer identifier The overall machine which uses the parts being purchased, and the details of the actual purchase.
No my customer wants to see the overall machine as a category with the list of all the part numbers used in this machine. Then only those part numbers which have actual orders would show detail rows for those orders. The part numbers with no orders would just show one row with the part number.
Now I would like to use collapsible Rows to show the part numbers with orders as expandable and expanded, whereas those partnumbers without orders would not show as expandable or expanded. However every partnumber is showing up as expandable with a blank row under those part numbers with no orders. How can I get the part numbers with no orders to show up only as unexpandable rows while those part numbers with orders to show up as expanded listing the information about the individual orders under the part number header.
